キム・ジェミニ／韓国
韓国生まれ。海運会社を退職後、韓国の仁川で自身にとって最も身近なテーマについて研究を始めました。朝鮮戦争、郊外での生活、そして農業。近年はアジアの国々における植民地化以降の産業について調査を重ね、作品を制作しています。この作品は、現在の西成公園がある場所にかつて存在した 大日本紡績株式会社に注目し、当時の街並みやそこで働いていた人々が見ていたであろう景色や息遣いを鑑賞者に想起させます
After retiring from a shipping company, he studied urban theory and art practice in London. Upon returning to Incheon, South Korea, he had the opportunity to engage with the local community and began researching the topics closest to his heart. The Korean War, suburban life, and agriculture. He has been actively involved in local activities, seeking to connect widely unknown war stories not only from Korea, but also from Japan and Vietnam. His recent artistic research focuses on post-colonial industry in Asian countries, namely trade with machine factories. This theme resonates with his personal experience living in the suburbs.
